Les Gens de la Pluie

Nicolas Blies and Stéphane Hueber-Blies

Immersive installation | 2027

He remembers those bygone years. He can’t stop thinking about them. As if looking through a dusty window, he can see the past, but can’t touch it. If he could break it, he’d run back to those ancient days.

– Wong Kar-Wai, In The Mood For Love

In an immersive space where spoken word, electronic music and digital landscapes meet, Les Gens de la Pluie invites the public on a unique sensory journey.

Inspired by the authors’ personal experience, the project tells the story of two people in love whose relationship falters when one’s body becomes fragile. Faced with the ordeal of illness, they must rethink desire, touch and sharing. How can they continue to exist together when the body fails and intimacy slips away? As the audience moves along, the story is written in two voices, like two sides of the same story, with each spectator becoming the composer of his or her own journey.
