The PowerPlant

The PowerPlant is an immersive experience (VR and projection) set on a fictional tropical island. The player is invited to explore a futuristic power plant powered by transgenic plants… until they start to rebel.

Composed from hand-painted watercolors then spatially rendered in real-time 3D, the project unfolds a vibrant aesthetic, between lush natural landscape and futuristic energy architecture. We pass through an unstable ecosystem where technology appears to be alive, and where the living hijacks what was supposed to control it.
Beyond contemplation, The PowerPlant questions our relationship with progress: how far can we transform the natural world, and what does hybridization between artificial intelligence and organic matter produce?
